CATS: The Jellicle Ball

This new production of CATS tells the story on its own without you needing to remember the original. The costumes, lights, and sound effects all contribute to an entirely new version of the story that completely draws you in. CATS: The Jellicle Ball has the same storyline as CATS, except as a ballroom revival where the actors are dressed in drag and contemporary outfits, and there are runway competitions to see which cat is the most qualified to go to heaven.  This production beautifully shows the history of drag and the importance of queer love. At multiple times throughout the show the actors brought pride flags onto the stage! Every aspect of this production was incredible and does an amazing job of combining a classic story with highlighting the importance and value of a historically marginalized community.
