Intro

Kai and Paedyn are back in Ilya, but this time, Paedyn is to be Kitt's queen and Kai has the unfortunate fate of standing by as the Enforcer while the girl he loves marries his brother. But there is private life outside of public life, so Paedyn and Kai still find ways to sneak around without getting caught. Meanwhile, Kitt has changed- perhaps for the worse. when Kai left to go find Paedyn, Kitt was a shell of himself, but now Kai sees that Kitt is confident and kingly just like their father. Unfortunately for Paedyn, the kingdom still does not trust her as queen because she is an Ordinary, so she is forced to repeat her own trials to prove herself. Kai aides her as the Enforcer, and they are free to be in their relationship, until kitt starts notices how kai constantly chooses Paedyn over him, which puts Paedyn in a life threatening position. And when Paedyn finds out information that changes the way she will think about her life forever, she is forced to choose between the man she has married to save a kingdom and the man her heart truly belongs to.

The Good

• Kai says he's been nothing but willing when it comes to drowning in Paedyn's ocean eyes but now he can't fathom drowning if she's not the anchor he's sinking with

• As soon as Paedyn leaves the throne room AFTER JUST GETTING ENGAGED TO KITT SHE IS WITH KAI IN A BROOM CLOSET TRUE FORBIDDEN ROMANCE

• KAI WOULD SPEND THE REST OF HIS DAYS MAKING HER FLOWER CROWNS IN THE FIELD OF POPPIES IF SHE WANTED TO BE HIS QUEEN

• Even though Paedyn's hair is choppy she keeps it for the memory of her and Adena unevenly cutting each other's hair and now they never will again

• Paedyn is supposed to be looking at Kitt but her eyes find their way back to Kai and she says he is a repitition of the past she can't seem to escape

The Bad

• Kitt calls Paedyn the future queen of Ilya it's so disgusting that he has complete control over her now

• Kitt, Kai and Paedyn go to the slums and there is an attack on the kingdom from bombs because the Elites don't want Paedyn as their queen

• The kingdom wants to send her back into the Trials as a way to prove herself to the people as queen

• Edric considers Ava an embarrasment just because she has no power I hate him that's so mean she's a baby

• THE CREW MEMBERS ARE GOING TO THROW PAEDYN OVERBOARD AND KAI KILLS TWO OF THEM BUT THE THIRD ONE THROWS HER AND KAI TRIES TO SAVE HER BUT HIS POWER FAILS SO SHE FALLS CLOSER TO THE WATER AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM

• Paedyn says she and Kai can never be an us and Kai becomes cold and says he was just a distraction and he is mad but he has to understand the truth and says he doesn't know if she would choose between him or Kitt anymore

• Kitt has been lying the whole time he never wanted to unite Ordinaries with Elites he just wanted Elites to rule over all the kingdoms

• THE ROSES FROM THE GARDEN WERE LACED AND STARTED ANOTHER PLAGUE AMD PAEDYN UNKNOWINGLY DELIVERED THEM TO IZRAM WHICH WILL BE THE FIRST INFECTED KINGDOM

• KAI STABBED KITT AND KITT DIES BECAUSE HE LOST HIMSELF SO MUCH THAT HE FORGOT TO DODGE THE BLADE

Powerless fans and fans of forbidden romance and love triangles with two brothers.

8.5/10 I thought this book was amazing it had me giggling, kicking my feet, crying, and yelling in frusteration at all the different plot twists and directions I had no way of expecting it to go in. For most of the book I hated Kitt especially when he started saying Paedyn was no longer useful and when he tried to KILL HER I did not see that one coming. I really liked Kai's internal conflict with himself having to choose between fhe girl he loves and his brother. He knows what the right decision is, but he just can't bring himself to make it until Paedyn eventually makes it for him. Their relationship is stronger than ever in this book, tested in every way possible and they fight to the very end to be together until they are finally forced to see that there is no world in which they would work, until after Kitt's death when Kai proposes and they get married. However, I was confused by the epilogue because I didn't know what the message was of what the women were saying to Kitt, and I also am confused by who Mara is. Like I said before, I absolutely hate Kitt for wanting to kill Paedyn and have no use for her, but I was crying when he gave Kai the ring and told him to love each other for him. In the end the only thing he cared about was his brother being happy. This book was so unexpected in the best way and I can't believe we have to wait until September 2nd to read Fearful.
