Claire Biggs and Gerard "Gibsie" Gibson have always been best friends. when Gibsie's dad and sister drown when he is only 7 years old, it haunts the rest of his life and Claire is the only person who he will open up to.  To the rest of the world he is Gibsie, but to Claire he is Gerard, and only around her can he be his true self. Gibsie has a secret that no one but him knows about, and it constantly haunts his life. As Gibsie and Claire get older, they develop a closer bond and deeper feelings, but are both tied down by their haunting pasts. I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT MARK IS THE WORST. It hurt me to see Claire and Gibsie fall for each other at different times when the other one wasn't ready, and I hated to see both of them convince themselves and each other to fight their feelings when all they wanted was to just be with each other.
